If I were British, I would not know what to vote today.
I think Im a true Euro-friendly citizen.
For years, I’ve supported the European union. I’ve felt we Europeans couldn’t survive in this world if we were divided. I’ve long thought that the EU was key to peace and solidarity.
Maybe I’ve been mistaken. The EU was unwilling to save Greece. Indeed, the EU prefered to save banks rather than the Greeks themselves. The European Union could have been than a market. It is not. It could have helped migrants, it did not. It could have protected workers, it encouraged free competition.
So today, if I were a British citizen, I would be ill at ease, if not torn apart.
La construction européenne n’a pas rempli, loin s’en faut, ses promesses. Mais là n’est sans doute plus le problème pour nos amis britanniques.
Combien sont-ils à vouloir de l’Europe ce que nous Européens voulions d’elle ?
